Alana loves all STEM fields, most notably technology. She’s especially interested in nuclear engineering and the possibility of a new era of cheap, clean and abundant energy.
Future Wildlife Veterinarian
Dayja’s love of science informs her passion for animals and wildlife. She wants to help engineer a world in which humans and animals coexist and thrive.
Future Civil Engineer
This passionate math whiz sees mathematics as key to engineering projects that will improve the quality of drinking water. Kirah also foresees STEM as critical to mitigating damage and consequences from future natural disasters.
Sarah fell in love with science after taking part in her school’s Science Olympiad. In the future, she hopes to use science to help people, whether it be in medicine or genetics.
Future Energy Expert
Sarah is a problem-solver at heart and the issue she’s most passionate about is how to connect energy and environmental sustainability. Her interest in engineering matches her love of travel, and it’s highly likely she’ll use both to make a difference.
Maya truly believes that with a STEM degree, the sky is the limit. In addition to being an accomplished engineer, she loves making furniture and dancing.
Jessica wants kids in low-income areas to get exposure to STEM careers. She says, “They are bound to find something that interests them.”
Emily believes in trying new things and embarking on new challenges. She joined the Icebox Derby team to do just that, and inspire more women to join STEM fields.
